Christ in the Crucible

When I yielded my life to Christ, I assumed it would be problem-free.
As long as I adhered to biblical principles, I thought and prayed continually.
With joy, I professed to all I knew my commitment and experiences with God.
Unaware of the tests and trials I'd encounter by means of the Lord's staff and rod.
I questioned God's love when I faced betrayal, disappointment, injustice, and loss.
But reminded that Jesus, my Savior, and Redeemer, suffered worse on the Cross.
I learned that God had not abandoned me; because of sin, pain affects all of humanity.
The oppositions I confront are opportunities for growth if I allow it to eventually.
